Hosting Renewal Price Report 2026

The biggest hidden cost in web hosting is the renewal jump: the gap between the advertised first-term price and what you actually pay from year two onward. We compared intro and renewal pricing across the providers in our database. Prices are taken…

Intro vs renewal, ranked by the jump

Steepest increase first, because the promotional price is not the price you keep paying. Providers that hold the price are marked flat; where we have not recorded a renewal price the row says so and is left out of every figure above. Total cost models year one at the intro rate and the remaining years at renewal, over 3 years.

How to protect yourself

Budget on the renewal price, not the intro price. Lock in a longer term only when the renewal jump is steep and you trust the host.

Ask before you buy when a provider does not publish its renewal rate — on this page that is the largest group of all. Diarise your renewal date: switching before it lands is often cheaper than staying, and our How to Migrate WordPress Hosting (Without Downtime) shows how to move without downtime.

Method. One plan per provider: the cheapest paid plan on a real hosting type, the same plan used for that provider's "from" price elsewhere on this site, so the figures here cannot disagree with the rest of the site. Add-on products such as mailboxes are excluded. Intro and renewal are the advertised monthly rates in the currency each provider publishes, and every row carries the month we last checked it and links to its source. "Increase" is computed from those two prices, never stored. Totals model year one at the intro rate and the remaining years at renewal, over 3 years. Of 47 providers we hold a renewal price for 18; the other 29 publish none and are excluded from every count, range and comparison rather than being treated as flat. One caveat on comparability: 22 of these 47 prices are the monthly equivalent of a longer commitment rather than a month-to-month rate. Each row shows its term, so a multi-year price is never presented as if it were monthly.

How to Migrate WordPress Hosting (Without Downtime)

Prices are read from each provider's own pricing page on the date shown against each row and are awaiting editorial review. Providers change pricing frequently — always confirm the current renewal rate on the provider's site before buying.
